Preparing for objectivation

Although the Self, just as in the outgoing conjunction, is not aware of that reflection journey yet, it does begin to discover that its observation of the environment and of itself is determined by its own perspective: it begins to notice that it can see everything through its own lens. This awareness forms the seed for objectivation in a later stage. So in the turning point of the opposition, the future objectivation is already being prepared (25.7).

The incoming arc

In the incoming opposition, the doubts and tensions are still present. However, the hesitant attitude has now given way to overconfidence, as an overcompensation for the inner doubt. The moment of application has swung from slow-motion and dependent-on-the-environment to over-the-top, quick and egocentric.
In this incoming aspect, the resistance is underestimated, again resulting in little result, unless there is a third, bridging planet affecting the first two.
When the planetary forces involved in this bridging aspect drain away in the same direction (both incoming or both outgoing), this can yield an unambiguous result. However, if both aspects do not operate in the same direction, the situation is less favorable. Such a bridging breaks up the tension within the person in two opposite directions, so both expressions will be experienced as unsatisfying. The things he sets to work on with one hand, he undermines with the other in one and the same movement.
A square bridging brings struggles that can distort the result. Yet a square bridging that involves two planets moving in the same direction can also lead to extraordinary results.

In the incoming triangle, the reflection might actually get off to a good start, but the circumstances do not yet compel the Self to take a closer look at its own Self-image. With this aspect, one is seen as one wants to be seen, without having to put too much effort into it, encountering suitable circumstances effortlessly. In other words, one can profit from favorable situations without having to work for them.
These bits of good fortune do not give the person a reason for taking a closer look at things. He conveniently identifies with this success, which is taken for granted. For worldly matters, this is a very favorable aspect, even though the Self hardly gets round to any introspection. It simply enjoys its success, for in this aspect, the necessity to dis-identify from it has not presented itself yet.
But this all changes in the incoming square, where a re-evaluation becomes inevitable for the Self. Since passing the turning point, the Self believes that he is the lead character in the game, whereas in reality, he is only its representative: For even though the Self derives its identity from this unknown, deeper factor, it is not identical with it, and the impression he can give of it, only has a limited duration.

In the incoming square, this duration clearly approaches its expiration date. The image that is cast out on the circumference becomes less authentic, as the Self’s meddling is distorting the performance in an annoying way. The environment experiences its expressions as inauthentic, inappropriate and therefore as a burden. Rooted in its old Self-image, the person expends a lot of energy to achieve the desired result. When he fails in this, it can be felt as disillusionment. Repetition of this experience will actively set the reflection process in motion.
